So now you know what to do when using Yahoo Answers, what are some of the things you should not do?

First and foremost make sure that your weblink is related DIRECTLY to the question.
I mean really, don´t you get frustrated when you click on a link and the site has nothing to do with what you are searching for?

A good example of this is quoted by Tracey Edwards of http://www.answerstraffic.com: If someone ask you a question about exercise that does not mean that you can send them to your diet pills website.

They are both a part of the losing weight niche but they are not related.
You don´t want to be labeled a spammer.

Next make sure that your answers are unique to the questions ask. Don´t give out a carbon copy answer to every question related to your subject.

Give detailed answers. Naturally you want to drive people to your link, but if you just add a link saying for more info “click here”, people will see it as a sales ploy. In fact the more you make prospects click around, the more likely they are to get frustrated and look somewhere else.

Getting Started Using Yahoo Answers To Drive Traffic

So how do you get started using Yahoo Answers to drive traffic?

First of all, if you don´t already have one, sign up for an account with Yahoo Answers.

Next search the questions for open ones related to your niche.  The questions are generally open for four days.

Then go to the advanced search page for Yahoo Answers and put your keyword in the keyword box.

In “search for keyword match in” choose “questions”.

Under “category”, select “all”.

In “question status” choose “open questions – best answer has not been chosen”.

Then under “date submitted” choose “any-time”.

In the “% thumbs up rating” select “all evaluations”.

When you get your results, pick out about 10 questions you would like to answer but put your link in only two of them.  By doing this, you will prevent Yahoo from thinking that you are a spammer.  So only add your link to the questions that you gave the best answer to.

Also, answer questions in a few different categories.  This way it comes across as more natural as apposed to answering questions in only one category.

You will get the most traffic from questions that you give the best answer to because, your response will appear at the top of the page.  Since people have a tendency to only read the first reply, you will be in the best position to receive traffic.

Let´s face it, without traffic you could be selling water in the desert and you would not make a sale.

However, if you are ignoring Yahoo, you could be leaving money on the table.

You see, Yahoo Answers gets around a billion visitors looking for answers to their questions.
